Youre better off farming GMs, the drop rate for lost sectors are abysmal and inconsistent. And yet theyre supposed to be the primary source for getting Exotics. Heck GMs are way better at least you can something that is an exotic armor ,shard or an adept weapon.Over 20 still no exotic here. The rng is bad, I got necrotic grip from 16th try from 1250. My hunter and warlock get it within the second run, nothing drops for my titan. bump still bugged/drop rate way to low ive done over 4 hours of farming on all 3 characters throughout the day and only one drop my first run.For all the reasons you mentioned and more, the drop rates, large exotic pool, and RNG-based stat rolls make farming lost sectors absolutely worthless, in my opinion, outside of getting your first roll on an exotic to unlock it. I want lost sectors to be cool/moderately tough content for solo players. If it takes you 3 minutes to do legend and 8 to do master then master is not worth it. If it takes 4 minutes to do legend and 4:20 to do master then master is better. Master lost sectors do have a higher drop rate, but because legend can be run much faster it works out to be faster to farm legend instead of master.

It's pretty much impossible you went 48 runs without a single drop, even 10 runs without a drop is very unlikely. That said I'm not 100% sure you can even get the older exotics the first time from lost sectors
