Brownells list a pin, but it says post 1974, and the photo shows a difference at the business end with the size of the cut-outs. The firing pin will stick out the rear of the bolt for the hammer to hit if there is a round in the chamber to push the pin back. It has nothing to do with the rifle being pointed down unless the end of the firing pin is broken off so the cartridge can't push it back.
