2008 Ranger 700 XP No Spark. Hi everyone, I'm a new member, and a new owner of a used ranger with 3900 mi. I just purchased it last week, the previous owner installed a new throttle cable and a new battery just before my purchase. I adjusted the idle per the procedure online and it ran good for about 2mi then started to backfire and die.

As I was tightening the positive to the solenoid down by the battery, the lug twisted off. Ordered a new starter solenoid that showed up today.No electrical power. Was mounting a Champion Winch to 2015 Polaris Ranger 570 Midsize. Needed to find a hotwire off the ignition to splice into for the remote switch. Used a meter to check the back of the ignition. Probed the first connection on the left of the ignition (as you look from the front), lights came on then lost all electrical power.

You need to pull the injectors and see if they are pulsing when you crank it over. If they are then you have ruled out everything except compression. Primary is the resistance between the electrical connector to ground (which is a mounting tab on the coil) secondary is between the electrical connector and spark plug cap. If you get no reading on the secondary side, unscrew the spark plug cap and read it again.
