I have about 8 bags (3 weeks) that I inoculated from a spore syringe and one from agar (1 week) and I'm wondering around how long I will need to wait for full colonization. edit: Note, I don't see anything in the bottom of the bags yet.I think that’s been proven to be a myth . If you ignore the modified lids, 12 1qt mason jars new runs me $25 at the local hardware store, and brown rice for broke boi tek is a few bucks. This works out to 24 uncle Ben's. Plus micropore tape which will cost me well over, even if I buy jars by the single or pair which is less cost effective but makes sense for a personal grower.

Usually it doesn’t have enough nutrients for the myc, so even if it does colonize you might get some wimpy fruits. White rice is the reason many claimed in the beginning that UBs don’t work. I’d try to get my hands on brown rice.
