Tighter slide to frame tolerances would definitely be a plus ( mine would be going on a 4.5 xdm open gun so the lighter the better).The XDM slide is too narrow to low mount the RMR with the mounting lugs. The RMR can handle the cycling of the slide, and even if you mount it on the slide, it takes some practice to find the dot.
