I wanted something better but also somewhat unique but wasn't ready to assault my sensibilities by buying a $2000 1911.I have about 2k rounds through my SAS UL 3.25 with the stock guide rod and everything is fine. I am running a Bul SAS II UL with the EGW 3” guide rod. With probably 1,000 rounds through with it. The recoil impulse was a little better with it than the factory guide rod.
