Thematically the Wizard is the caster’s caster, and the Witch is the familiar master who borrows weird shit from their patron. I think both fantasies are well fulfilled. In terms of power, I think they’re even. All the witch's spells come from their familiar, that's why they can learn spells. The familiar is only ever capable of casting spells if they take the appropriate familiar ability. As a Wizard, you have a spell book. As a witch, your familiar is your spell book. The casting a spell thing is completely separate from that.For this, I’m most focusing what is the main change of the Witch: the Patron. The biggest addition is unique familiar effects based off your patron.
