Even the odometer light did not light up. I can remote start the car, it ran fine, but when i put the key in, pressed the brake pedal, I couldn't put it in D or N .If it cranks and doesnt start, probably not the starter. If it doesnt turn or just clicks, check battery and its terminals for looseness or corrosion. If you're able to tap the starter with something and then it cranks, its bad.
